The Law Decree 196/2003, called "Code on personal data protection" brings together in one context, the law 675/1996 and other legislative decrees, regulations and ethical codes that have followed in recent years concerning the processing of personal data.
The Law Decree 196/2003 sets out a number of provisions designed to ensure that the processing of personal data respects the human rights, the fundamental freedom and dignity of individuals, with particular reference to privacy and personal identity. Similarly, the Decree guarantees the rights of legal people as well as the rights of any other entity or association.
